I went to the kids library. And I tried to teach my daughter how to use the computer. All of a sudden I have a man who happens to be a librarian from the regular library telling me to move for the other child. In a rude tone. It would've been nice if he or the mother herself had politely asked me instead. But since I've experienced such rudeness I won't be back to the Douglasville location.
The whole "be quiet in the library thing" is a mystery to the patrons here. The staff is great, but the patrons have no clue about manners or "inside voice."
I am so thankful for this library. My husband and I live in Morrow, Georgia, which is in Clayton County, but my husband has been assigned to work in Douglasville at Douglas Commons as a security officer. His shift is 3 to 10 pm, M-F. Because he has cataracts and cannot drive at night, I bring him to work and wait until his shift is over so I can drive him home. This would be a very unfortunate situation except for this library and my being able to spend some of the time here. The staff has been very accommodating and extremely helpful and friendly. I am sure they wonder why this lady comes to the library and stays until it is closing on most days but they are a godsend. For the person who spoke negatively about the staff, I wish you would come back and give them another chance because they always meet me with a smile and answer any questions I might have. I have always loved reading and books so this is the perfect place for me to pass the time while waiting for my husband to leave work. Thank you to the staff.
This has been my library for many years. No problems.
There is a librarian in the kids section that has made it a habit to pick on my 1 year old daughter! She harrassed my daughter so much that the other family that was in there apologized to me for her being so rude & left when we did. I talked to the manager & told her the date & time it last happened & they wouldn't do anything about it because I couldn't get a hold of the manager immediately, even tho I explained to her I had been trying for 4 days to & management had a 4 day vacation, so she was contacted as soon as she was in the office. We no longer use this library, found a much better one.
